How to make the perfect Cosmopolitan

The Cosmopolitan. Inextricably linked with NYC, where its popularity was further elevated by a certain Miss Bradshaw and friends in the late nineties. The tart-sweet blend of vodka, cranberry and citrus has placed it firmly on the ‘classic cocktail’ list. Don’t dismiss the Cosmo because of its colour – who doesn’t love a bit of pink?!

 Ingredients:

• 30ml of your preferred vodka (if you have a citrus one to hand even better)
• 20ml Cointreau
• 30ml cranberry juice
• 10ml fresh lemon juice
• Half a lime
• Orange peel
• Ice

Method:

• Add all the liquid ingredients along with the ice to your Rusty Barrel shaker.
• Shake for 8-10 seconds.
• Strain into a chilled cocktail glass.
• Garnish with a twist of orange peel.
