Long Island Iced Tea

Long Island Iced Tea

How to make the perfect Long Island Iced Tea

This cocktail is a booze-filled triumph, containing everything but tea. Rumoured to have been created during prohibition on Long Island, intended to masquerade as iced tea to avoid any unwanted attention. It has been extremely popular (and extremely hangover-inducing) ever since. As always, it’s down to how you balance flavours when creating a LIIT – but however rigorous you are, it will always pack a wallop!

 Ingredients:

  • 20ml of your preferred vodka
  • 20ml of your preferred white rum
  • 20ml of your preferred gin
  • 20ml of your preferred tequila
  • 20ml of Cointreau
  • 20ml of fresh lemon juice
  • 20ml of sugar syrups
  • 20ml of cola
  • A twist of lemon peel
  • Ice

Method:

  • Add the vodka, white rum, gin, tequila, Cointreau, lemon juice, sugar syrup and ice to a cocktail shaker.
  • Shake well for 8–10 seconds.
  • Strain into your glass over ice.
  • Top up with cola.
  • Garnish with lemon peel twist.
