Piña Colada

Piña Colada

How to make the perfect Piña Colada

If a Piña Colada doesn’t transport you to a tropical beach somewhere, it’s doubtful anything else will. This Puerto Rican creamy coconut-and-rum sensation has to be up there with one of the ultimate classic cocktails, provided of course it is well made (run for your life if it’s ever served pre-mixed)! The rich coconut needs to be masterfully balanced with the crisp rum and sweetness of the pineapple and cherry, leaving you with a smooth and invigorating drink to thoroughly savour.

 Ingredients:

  • 50ml of your preferred white rum
  • 50ml of pineapple juice
  • 30ml coconut milk
  • 1 maraschino cherry
  • A slice of pineapple
  • Ice

Method:

  • Add the white rum, pineapple juice, coconut milk and ice to a cocktail shaker.
  • Shake well for 8-10 seconds.
  • Strain into your glass over ice.
  • Garnish with the maraschino cherry and slice of pineapple.
